Baby Wisely: Week 35

How far along? 35 weeks, gigantor honeydew.

The good?: Had a good doctor's appointment this week, she says everything looks great, happy and healthy still. Not too often do you get to stroll into the doctor's office, and have them applaud how much weight you've gained. Huzzah!

The bad?: Starting to get a bit sore again/picking up a bit of a waddle if I've been sitting down too long. Nothing too crazy, more entertaining for hubs and the coworkers.

The New?: Braxton hicks contractions I think? Go ahead body, practice up good.

Movement: Loving all the spins and kicks still!

Nursery update? Everything is washed and ready-- I'd have to say, one of the most adorable laundry experiences to date. I'm sure a few years from now I will disagree, but the first time made me smile, for sure.

How's the belly? Feeling small, then I get stuck on the couch. Or catch a photo of myself. Or try to fit into nearly anything. Then of course, I feel like a whale. At least I feel tiny on the inside! Or perhaps just finally used to being really pregnant?

Sleep?: Still lucky in the sleep department. Wahoo!

Baby Wisely: Week 34

How far along? 34 weeks, as big as a cantaloupe!

The good?: Still feeling wonderful! I'm noticing lots of people who are due around me have been going in to labor... has been freaking me out; I'm happy to report she feels like she's firmly rooted and has plans to bake for quite a bit longer (here's hoping)!

The bad?: Nothing too bad to report, really.

The New?: Had to take off the wedding ring this week. It's hit or miss (fits sometimes, not others), but I'd rather not risk it. Also got my diaper bag in the mail this week (woohoo!) and are expecting a few other last-minute things to arrive as well. Super exciting.

Movement: Still super active this week. She seems to have moved to a transverse position, which means I can feel her head and tush straight across my belly. Half way there is better than none at all, I guess (and it's really quite neat to be able to feel where she's at-- and being able for other people to feel it, too).

Nursery update? Hubby and I installed the ledge shelves under the window today, and it looks great! I'm hoping to be able to post a few pics soon. Nearly finished!

How's the belly? Feeling stretched again. It seems to go in cycles. This week is a 'holy crap, I feel like someone is inflating a a balloon in me--fast--and I need more skin' type of week.

Sleep?: Trying not to jinx things, but sleep has been fantastic. Couldn't be happier!

Baby Wisely: Week 33

How far along? 33, pineapple baby!

The good?: We have been continually spoiled, this past week by my amazing friends from crew (I miss all you guys)! Kari, a good friend of ours and fellow rower threw us a fabulous breakfast/shower, where we were treated to even more goodies and some amazing hand-knit items. We are so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful people!

The bad?: Me and the restroom are now great pals. Who would have thought anyone could pee as much as I could? (Well, every third trimester pregnant woman I guess!)

Movement: Soooo active. We've moved past 'kicks' to straight up spins, stretches, and generally 'get me out of here' type movements. She cracks me up; I find sometimes I just stare at my tummy and try to decide what she's up to (hopefully spinning in the head down position. Come on, baby...)

Food cravings: Nope! (I've heard that only about half of preggo-ladies get these actually... I may have to make a new question!)

Anything sounding disgusting? Nope!

Nursery update? Nesting. Check. Everything is put away and generally where it should be. We purchased some last minute items, now we are just waiting for a few things to get shipped here, and some paint to dry on some last-minute projects (painting/repurposing a picture rail/book shelf for under the window by the glider... we are hoping to have an inspired little reader and want to present her with as much reading material as possible!) All in all, feeling a bit more prepared each week (well, as much as you can be I guess).

How's the belly? Still large and wonderful. She has been pushing out in some crazy positions, yesterday I had a definite 'box' shape at night; crazy stuff, I say.

Sleep?  Still feeling lucky, getting great sleep (minus the midnight potty breaks, wahoo). Trying to catch more of it!

I will try and post some nursery pics/updates on here as I go, it's been great fun trying to find things and organize as well-- not to mention, forced internet photography is a great excuse to get things up, going and officially finished! I would love the last month of pregnancy to be full of nothing but waiting and happy thoughts. Here's hoping!

Baby Wisely: Week 32

How far along? 32 weeks, about as heavy as a jicama (around four pounds-ish)

The good?: Saturday, my Aunt threw me a fantastic baby shower. It was absolutely beautiful, and everything was so delicious-- my Aunt is incredibly talented at throwing parties!! We were so spoiled; we are very lucky to have amazing friends and family. This is definitely one loved girl already!

The bad?: Can't think of anything bad to report. It has really been a fantastic, sunny week around here.

Movement: Still super-charged! Our bean is super active these days. Kicking morning 'till night. She spent all night last night kicking poor Bryan in the back (take that, dad)!

Food cravings: Nope!

Anything sounding disgusting? Nope!

Nursery update? Glorious baby shower turned our tiny nursery into baby-central. Tonight we put together the glider that Bryan's family bought us; now comes the difficult task of finding a place for everything to fit.

How's the belly? Large and full of movement. It's crazy watching her spin.

Sleep? Fabulous. Feeling quite lucky still.

Baby Wisely: Week 31

How far along? 31 weeks (four navel oranges?? 3.3 pounds, and 16 inches long, although I know she was bigger than that a few weeks ago!)

The good?: The good is still great! Still feeling healthy, happy, and trying to make time go by slowly. Just had a very happy and relaxing Memorial day weekend full of birthday parties, bbq's, and belly rubs. Also felt the bean's first hiccups this week, which were pretty adorable.

The bad?: Finally reached the point where it's hard to change the radio station in the Accord. Walking slower, and starting to waddle up hills-- still attempting to hang in there though.

Movement: She's finally settling into a 'kick in the morning, kick at night', which makes me super happy because I can keep track of her. Today, however, she has been kicking all day, from first thing this morning to right now-- apparently Aunt Patti's test baby shower cupcakes make her a happy girl! (As that's what I ate most of yesterday and today! Delicious!)

Food cravings: Nope!

Anything sounding disgusting? Nope!

Nursery update? Still holding off. As organized as I can be at the moment.

How's the belly? Baby is still jammed firmly into my right rib/in my lung, which is still a bit uncomfortable-- but belly is still managing to grow normally with no--knock on wood-- stretch marks to report yet!

Sleep? Still sleeping very soundly! So thankful for that. I will try to remember that over the coming months.

Baby Wisely: Week 30

How far along? 30 weeks

The good?: Officially feeling back to normal. Comfortable in my skin, back feels great, clothes are comfortable-- I'm a happy future momma-to-be.

The bad?: I can definitely feel sleepiness starting to kick in again. These past few months I haven't been very tired at all throughout the day... I'm starting to drag a bit; that's to be expected though I'm sure.

Movement: Still a happy little jumping bean. I can still feel feet in my lower tummy-- I'm hoping she decides to flip sometime soon!

Food cravings: Nope!

Anything sounding disgusting? Nope!

Nursery update? Surprisingly, nothing to report. Trying to stay organized for future-things.

How's the belly? Pretty happy, actually. No complaints this week.

Sleep? Very well! (Although I'm very much looking forward to the three day weekend... sleep and waffles. I'm excited.)

Baby Wisely: Week 29

How far along? 29 weeks. And unlike my veggie comparison for the week, I know for a fact that my little bean isn't the suggested 2.5 pounds, but has now reached 3 lbs 4oz-- and officially measuring 1-2 weeks ahead. Our little one is growing--fast!

The good?: Had a great week! Celebrated my first 'nearly' Mothers' Day, as well as had a fabulous day with my own mother and mother-in-law-- great weekend overall! Also received a bag full of beautiful maternity clothes from a co-worker-- which was a God send. I am so thankful for my fancy, no-longer pregnant buddies.

The bad?: As time is quickly approaching, I am beginning to freak out a little bit-- I can't believe how quickly things are going, and that we will soon be in charge of taking care of this little life. Both scary and exciting. In my head I still have to describe it to myself as terrifyingly the neatest thing that will happen to us anytime soon.

Movement: Officially having to do 'kick counts' as instructed by my doctor. First they were happy little  nudges/flips throughout the day, now they are bit like homework-- poor thing won't sleep again with me poking her all the time, making sure she's moving around. I have a feeling she's going to get her revenge in a few months.

Food cravings: Nope!

Anything sounding disgusting? Nope!

Nursery update? Went on--yet another-- trip to Ikea, where we purchased a dresser. Smaller this time! Husband has been sweet and hasn't given me a hard time about my nesting obsessions. Curtains are hung up, still trying to decide of they need stripes. I'm pretty excited.

How's the belly? Good-- also explained! Our poor baby gal is breeched. Her head is jammed right in my lower right rib cage. No wonder it's been so sore and painful (Get your face out of my rib, little one! I do hope she flips soon though; doc said no need to worry unless she stays breeched for another month or so).

Sleep? Surprisingly normal, which has been a wonderful treat.

This week really has been great. Between getting to see our bean during our ultrasound on Wednesday (joined again by my mom and hubby, so happy to have them there!), and happily being able to fit into some new clothes, life has been pretty comfortable. I am so thankful for everyone this week-- my family, my husband, my friends-- squishy, but true. I am a very lucky girl, for sure. Thanks everyone :)
