Emerald City Comicon

Bryan meets Wickett

Chris and Tim as the Wonder Twins. (Chris was Jayna, of course)

The rest of the day in a nutshell

Lou Ferigno

As many of you know, my husband is quite the comic book nerd. As life has emerged, he has slowly been pulling me into his world of nerd-dom, and I'd have to say, I quite enjoy it. This Saturday a big group of us traveled to Seattle to Comicon... which was glorious. The selection of neat items for sale was okay; my highlights of the day were definitely the costumes. A few people went all out, I just wish I had taken more pictures! Overall we found a few great finds; including an awesome cartoon of Chewbacca (and a puffer fish, of all things) and a few free comics.

My nerd score? +7. Boo-yah. :)

Bellevue Day!

Picture full of FACE!

Anthropologie

Lisa, Elisa, and Heather at the Bravern
Heather at Trophy Cupcakes (I apologize-- wrong camera setting!)

Last Thursday the office ladies and I were lucky enough to be invited to Bellevue for an office skip day. We started out the day exploring the Bravern, where we got to check out Anthropologie, Tory Burch, Trophy Cupcakes and Neiman Marcus... it's gorgeous over there! After covering the opening of the Bravern for so long with the magazine it was nice to finally check it out in person. Following was an excellent lunch at Barrio, then to wine tasting at Chateau Ste. Michelle... followed by a return trip to Neiman's to visit our new favorite makeup artist, Esteban. Overall, it was a glorious day!!

Hooray for sunshine!

Today was wonderful... for the first time in a long while the sun was out (well, not as much as I'd like, but it was still wonderful!) so Bryan and I were able to get out and get some work done in the yard. He tried out the lawnmower the old owners had left us-- and it worked, woohoo!! I got some weeding done in the front yard, we have a giant island where plants have taken over; hopefully it will be filled with new pretty things soon! I will post pictures as soon as it becomes more than a large rock-enclosed dirt pile. I am definitely ready for spring!!

A few house snapshots

Just a few photos of our house! I have been trying to explain to a co-worker the difficulties of choosing a paint color (and how badly I want to repaint our bedroom!) so I figured I better document. Our living room (hi Bryan!) turned out a pretty nice shade of gray, although everyone still says it looks lavender at night. Our bedroom is more of a Seahawks blue-gray, but you have to start somewhere!

Why hello!

I am so excited to say that after being a blog follower for far too long, I am happy to start my own. It seems like a wonderful way to keep track of things, to share updates with family, and to post a few pictures on the internet of what's new in life without them being necessarily connected to Facebook.

Between getting married on August 7th, 2009, to buying our house shortly before this Christmas, life has been busy! Life has been absolutely wonderful, I look forward to sharing our quirky days on here. Hooray!
