It's always amazing that as a Washingtonian we complain about the days on end of rain... but as soon as the first sunny days reappear they're easy to forget. Today, because of the surprise sunshine; I was finally able to plant the peonies my mom gave me (thanks mom!!)... So they're hiding somewhere in the middle of our island-garden, next to our fig tree (holy crap, we have a fig tree?) I'm so excited for them to bloom! I'm also discovering how much I love perennials. Especially the 'surprise! It's spring!' variety.
Today also brought a strong hankerin' for cookie makin' (thanks to talking about them a bit too long at work today) and cleaning the pics off my camera. Including a pic of Lyla's first birthday cake!
More to come! Hopefully more sunshine will equal more pics... I'm working on it, I promise :)
