Baby Wisely: Week 26

How far along? 26 weeks, the size of a head of lettuce (2 pounds, about 14 inches long)

The good?: Started our baby registry-- for some reason test driving strollers got me (even more?) amped about meeting the bean. I'm still having a hard time imagining how life will be with her in it-- so even the little things make me excited.

The bad?: I'm finding that I can't do certain things anymore without sending my back into a mass of spasms. Managed to throw my back out by reaching for a pan, folding a curtain, and bending down to move a table. This has definitely been an odd week for me; I'm not used to asking for help with things-- I'm feeling very lucky that I have a very helpful hubby that notices these things and helps without asking :)

Movement: I've been trying to cut back on the sugar a tad; she seems to be alright with that-- just a few subtle jabs and spins here and there, much more normal feeling than the kickboxer of last week!

Food cravings: Nothing crazy. Is it strange that I feel like I'm failing with the good food stories?

Anything sounding disgusting? Nope!

How's the belly? Approaching the ribs-- I can't tell if she's jamming a foot up there, or if my ribs are just pissed at the change still.

Sleep? Sleeping through the night alright-- I'm starting to really hate being stuck to my side only. I wake up sore and angry, but happy that I've slept well.

Nursery update? Paint? Purchased. We're going the dusty pink route. After 10 paint samples (yes, super sad I know) we finally decided on pink for a girls room. Who knew, right? (Case and point-- our house is too neutral. And green. We're branching out and going girly, officially.) Boo-yah.

Baby Wisely: Week 25

How far along? 25 weeks, the size of a rutabaga (1.5 pounds, about 13.5 inches long-- which is good to know, because I can honestly say I've never held a rutabaga.)

Best moment this week: Laying down to go to sleep yesterday, putting my hand on my belly, and feeling a definite knee/foot/apendage-- such an odd feeling!

Movement: We've got a kicker.

Food cravings: Still leaning heavily on the sweet side. We definitely had a pancake party at work today. It was definitely a good idea.

Anything sounding disgusting? Nothing to report!

How's the belly? Happy! Getting to the point where it's more comfortable to rest books/iPad on the tum. I figure I have another month or so before I reach optimal reading/knitting height.

Sleep? Not too shabby.

Nursery update? Discovered Polyvore. Having fun organizing things I have so far, and things I'd like to purchase. Here's the plan so far:

Baby Wisely Nursery

Quite a ways to go, but happy to have a plan. I'm excited to have a new house project, but know it will also only look like what I'd like it to until she, you know, gets old enough to start filling it with all sorts of other things.

Clothing situation? My mood is directly related the the stretchiness of my current outfit. Novel concept.

I'm generally feeling: Pretty sore actually (pulled a muscle in my back earlier this week, but is to be expected). This has really been the first week where I've felt like I've had to start 'taking it easier,' which is strange for me. Everyone has been super sweet though and helping me out. I'm feeling super spoiled, and happy to have an excuse to hang out a bit more with my feet up.

Baby Wisely: Week 24

How far along? 24 weeks (about the size of a cantaloupe)

Best moment this week: Feeling healthy again!

Movement: I am able to tell when she's sleeping and awake, for sure-- when she's up, she's kicking up a storm. Bryan was able to listen to my belly and hear her move (he would give her a nudge, and she would kick him back-- still very cool.)

Food cravings: Nothing crazy. Still astounded by this. Who would have thought I would be eating more normally?

Anything sounding disgusting? Nope-- just not as big of an appetite as usual.

How's the belly? Continuing to feel stretched. The belly is super firm these days; I'm hoping my poor skin can keep up.

Sleep? Better this week!

Nursery update? Purchased these wrapping sheets from Rifle Paper Co this week (one of my favorite print shops!), and thinking that's going to be my new inspiration. I'm not normally super into pink, but I'm loving the old fashioned coral/pinks/greens in the paper. We shall see!

Clothing situation? Surprised how many things don't even close to fit. By some miracle, I am still able to fit in to my work pants (with my bellaband)-- shirts are another situation entirely. Bought myself this lacy shirt yesterday, spent all day today excited that I could wear something baggy for a change (and still feel a bit girly).

I'm generally feeling: Much happier. These past two weeks took a lot out of me, I'm excited to get back on track. Having a hard time believing it's been six months already; I'm hoping time can slow down a bit so I can enjoy these last few months.

Baby Wisely: 23 Weeks

How far along? 23 weeks (over a pound, 11 inches)

Best moment this week: Having my mom feel her kicking on her birthday! (She wasn't kicking all day, then gave her one good kick to say hello)

Movement: Still our little jumping bean

Food cravings: Nothing to report!

Anything sounding disgusting? Still not feeling super great-- so anything that doesn't feel great on the throat is a no-go.

How's the belly? Really strained this week-- keep getting super sore muscles where she's growing bigger. Ribs feeling pummeled; happy she's growing bigger-- hoping my skin can keep up.

Sleep? Alright-- still wishing I could breathe comfortably-- stupid cold!

Belly button situation? Silly. I find that I play with it sometimes. I tell you, there is probably nothing creepier than someone playing with their belly button. I'm working on it. :)

Clothing situation? Tight! Maternity work pants are in my future. Officially can't fit into anything that I dubbed 'oh-- this could be cute with a baby belly one day' clothes. I've jumped from not too preggers to ultra preggers in a short period of time I feel like.

I'm generally feeling: Full of a killer sinus headache! Hoping to be healthy by the hubby's 30th birthday this week. Very much looking forward to happy festivities!

Here are a few more snapshots from the week-- March Madness basketball dress up day at work:

Tearing up the shelving unit by our mantle, to make room for our new ladder shelves. We are tackling the cords at the moment, I will post a pic of the finished product.
